Caretaker-manager Chris Hutchings expects there to be a “few feathers flying” at Portman Road on Saturday as table-propping Town look to win their first home game since March against Sheffield Wednesday, who are one place above them in the Championship. The 55-year-old says both sides are currently fighting for their lives.

The Blues were deservedly in front after DJ Campbell claimed the second goal of his loan spell but Theo Robinson equalised before the break and sub Nathan Tyson netted the late winner.

Town had had the better of it until Williams struck in the 34th minute, Lee Martin and Paul Taylor both having forced Boro keeper Jason Steele into saves, but they didn’t seriously threaten again until the closing stages when Daryl Murphy, Michael Chopra and Taylor all went close, but sub Carayol cemented the home side’s win on the break.

Luke Chambers scored his first Town goal, Michael Chopra netted his second of the season and Scott Loach saved a penalty as the Blues drew 2-2 at home to Huddersfield. The Terriers were in front at the break via Adam Clayton before Town equalised and then went in front. On-loan Canary James Vaughan equalised for the visitors then saw his spotkick stopped by Loach.
